Round Rug (No Fringe)
The Round Rug, as described here, is about 22 inches wide (that’s what fits under my desk), however I know some of you will want something a little bigger (or even a lot bigger). I teach how to keep going after the ‘pattern’ has ended. So, if you want to go 16 feet (and work on it for the next few years, lol), now you can. I’ve tested the formula up to 4 feet.
Most Rounded Rugs tend to pucker or have an ugly line. I went on a mission to create one that
didn’t. I sat down with a notebook handy and tediously went round-by-round until I had my own pattern that did not pucker. To my surprise this ended up working with any size yarn and any size hook that was comfortable for the yarn thickness. 3 strands of 4 ply yarn (what most of us have in our stash) makes a very thick, long lasting rug.
The other thing that always bothers me is fringe. Maybe I am just OCD, but they always look messy, and fringe tends to become a trip hazard. Without the fringe a round rug looks boring, so I needed to create an edging that would look nice and lend itself to the circular style.
