As this was my only non-free pattern and I really don’t want to deal with the new VAT rules, it’s now a free pattern

This hat can be worked with whatever weight of yarn - not just DK - (and needle size) you like, and as no swatch is necessary, it is great for a cast-on-and-go project. It will fit any head, too
.
The magic in this is that the hat band is knit first, and then everything is worked relative to that.

Many of the options are easy to memorise and don’t require keeping count of rows, which makes this the perfect travel project.

There are three hat bands, two edgings, two hat body shapes, and five hat body textures, which makes a total of sixty routes through the project even before you consider yarn weights and finished hat sizes.
