This sweater is worked from the top-down, starting at the yoke. The back and sleeves are worked in one piece in the main color. Then the front piece is knit in stripes with the main color and the contrasting color, also from the top down.
The front’s & back’s side seam and the upper front raglan seam have to be sewn together.
The sweater has waist shaping on the sides. In the front, the stripes are knit by changing colors after every 6th row. The diagonal shifting stripe is created by knitting decreases and increases.
Sizes:
XS (S, M, L1, L2)XL, 2XL, 3XL – to fit 34 (36, 38, 40, 42)44, 48, 52” chest with approx. 2” ease/to fit 86 (91, 97, 102, 107)112, 122, 132 cm chest with approx. 5cm ease.
Yarn:
Madeline Tosh Sport (100% Merino; 270 yards/247 meters per skein) or DK weight yarn –
Main Color: 1000 (1050, 1100, 1150, 1200)(1250, 1300, 1350, 1400) yds
Contrast Color: 200 (200, 200, 200, 250)(250, 300, 350, 400) yds
Gauge:
20 sts & 28 rows = 4”/10 cm on larger sized needles in stockinette stitch.
Needles:
U.S. 6 (4 mm) circular 16” & 32’’ needle & DPN (if not using magic loop)
U.S. 5 (3.75) circular 16” & 32’’ needle & DPN (if not using magic loop)
U.S. 4 (3.5 mm) circular 24” needle
Optional: U.S. 0 (2 mm) circular 32” needles used to pick up & knit sts for the neck band
