Rowan Shawlette
The pattern for this shawlette was suggested by the bunches of berries on the neighbor’s Mountain Ash (Rowan) tree, and by the lovely fall colours in the ball of Rowan Fine Art sock yarn that followed me home from the yarn store one day.
Rowan is a bottom-up triangle, made with the entrelac technique, using a full ball (437 yards) of sock yarn, on 4mm needles. The sample shawl used a full ball of yarn, to the last inch, so if you are a loose knitter, be sure to have an extra ball of yarn. The sample shawlette was made with 6 tiers of blocks, but you can make as many tiers as you have yarn for, if a larger piece is needed.
The pattern is presented with both a chart and written directions.
Gauge is not important for this project.
Every effort has been taken to ensure accuracy of directions, but, being only human, there may be an ‘oopsie’ somewhere. If you find one, please let me know.
