Warm and cozy this cowl features hearts and crowns stitched in mosaic patterns. Since the motifs are inverted, the cowl can be worn either way up.

Skills required: Ability to knit and read charts. Rated for advanced beginners, this will also be a delight to knit for more advanced knitters. It is a great way to play with the technique of mosaic knitting in the round.

Only one color is used per round, and two rounds of the same color are worked before switching colors. The color not currently in use is simply slipped across those two rounds. Since this mosaic is garter stitched based, every second round of the color in use is purled.

As designed the cowl is not adjustable in size. However, an appendix with alternate charts for the crowns is included in the pattern that will allow customization for weight of yarn and number of repeats, making it very adaptable in size.

The original pattern has been tested although the alternate version has not been.
