Royal is a V-neck pullover with drop shoulders, decorated with all-over aran print. I recommend choosing a size with 0-20cm /0-8” of positive ease depending on your personal preference.

The sweater is worked bottom-up, first Main Body in the round up to the armholes, then Back and Front flat separately. The sleeves are knit top-down from the edge of the armhole in the round to reduce the amount of seaming. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neck opening to work the neckband. Neckband, hem and cuffs are all worked in simple 1x1 rib.

Needles:
• Aran print: 3.5 mm/US 4 (or size to get gauge) circular needles on a 60-80cm/24-32” cable for body & 40cm/16” for sleeves;
• Stockinette: 3 mm/US 2.5 (or 0.5 mm / 2 US sizes smaller than main) circular needles on a 60-80cm/24-32” cable.
• Ribbing: 2.25 mm/US 1 (or 1-1.5 mm / 3 US sizes smaller than main) circular needles on a 60-80cm/24-32” cable for hem, 40-60cm for the neckband & DPNs for cuffs.

Gauge
21 sts x 28 rows per 10 cm/4” in stockinette after blocking with needles you will be using for aran print (base size – 3.5 mm/US 4).
