The ROYGBIV skirt is named after the colours of the rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. The pattern calls for 7 colours to make a true rainbow skirt or you can go nuts with any combination of colours you like.

The skirt is knitted in DK/light worsted weight yarn, the gauge for the waistband is 20 sts per 10 cm/4 in, the gauge for the rest of the skirt is optional (if kept same as waistband will give a firmer fabric, while using 1 or 2 size larger needles will give a looser fabric with more drape).
