Yarn: 8ply/DK - 100grms or less for all sizes
Equipment: 3.50mm and 4.50mm, 40cm circular needles, dpn’s or magic loop (or size required for gauge), 1 x stitch markers, darning needle for weaving in ends, and a balloon for blocking the finished hat. Gauge: 20st/10cm in stocking stitch in 4.50mm needles.
Mount Ruapehu is situated in the central North Island of Aotearoa, New-Zealand. At 2797 metres high it is the highest peak in the North Island It is the largest active volcano in the country erupting to some degree every few years. It is also the home to two of the country’s finest ski fields, Turoa and Whakapapa, huge snowfilled basins, steep chutes and secret powder stashes are all a part of its allure. In the summer months it plays’s host to both Mountain bikers with several trails in the area and also trampers with it spectacular hiking trails in the area. In the Maori language the name Ruapehu can be translated as ‘pit of noise’ or ‘exploding pit’
