Rubber Ring Granny Square
This crochet pattern is for a small square featuring a rubber ring. Ideal for creating beach-themed blankets, tote bags, or decorative pillows, this pattern provides all the detailed instructions you need to bring this rubber ring square to life. You can download this pattern for free or purchase it as part of a set with my other three small beach-themed squares. For a complete seaside experience, consider the full blanket bundle, which includes all my beach-themed squares along with detailed assembly and border instructions to create a cohesive and charming beach-themed blanket.
⚠ It is written in English only, using US terminology. If you would prefer UK terminology, please let me know and I can provide this. ⚠
ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pattern is worked in the round using tapestry crochet to create the coloured rubber ring, which is then finished with surface slip stitch. Using DK yarn, a 4 mm hook, and a tension of 18 sc x 18 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, the square measures approximately 12 cm x 12 cm after blocking. If your tension varies or you use different yarn or hook sizes, your square may be slightly smaller or larger. If you are incorporating this square into my beach blanket, it does not really matter as long as you are consistent; your final blanket will simply end up larger or smaller. The finished square, including the border, has 21 stitches on each side plus 1 stitch in each corner.
SKILL LEVEL
I have assigned a beginner skill level to this pattern. You should be able to read patterns written in English and be comfortable working in rounds. Additionally, familiarity with standard crochet stitches, from single crochet to treble crochet, is required.

Feel free to explore variations by swapping out yarn and hook sizes to achieve a different outcome, and get creative with experimenting with various colours.
