Rubble Hat
If you don’t need a full-fledged winter hat, my lightweight Rubble Hat comes in quite handy when you’re not quite cold but not quite warm. I paid particular attention to features that make an interesting project for the knitter and a go-to hat for the wearer:
• Stretchy, comfortable tubular cast-on that relaxes to easily fit a 23 in / 58 cm circumference head
• A .25 in / .5 cm contrasting edge that gives a pop of color to those who don’t care for it all over the place
• An attractive but unobtrusive pattern stitch
• Smooth arcs of crown decreases that pamper the pate
The rough gravel road I take to/from Bald Hill inspired the Rubble Hat name.
This pattern includes both instructions and charts for fingering, sport, DK, and worsted weight yarn. Both versions make approximately the same size Rubble Hat.
