Skill level: Intermediate

A Summer tunic top that can be layered for the cooler days with a simple long sleeve top worn underneath. Great if knitted in cotton and ideal for a hot Summer’s day with a breathable design to help your little one stay cool. Knitted from the top down, no seaming required. The i-cord ties can be are a great way to get a little more wear out of this top as they can be adjusted to suit your required length.

YARN REQUIRED
This can be knitted up in 8ply cotton knitted on 3.25 mm needles.
OR
5/6 ply yarn on 3.5 mm needles to achieve the same gauge as per my
pattern.

Knitted in Cotton on 3.25 mm needles – Yarn Heirloom Cotton 8 ply 120 m/ 131 yd per 50 gram ball.
A -- 85 grams / 205 metres / 225 yards
B -- 95 grams / 230 metres / 250 yards
C -- 125 grams / 300 metres / 330 yards
D -- 145 grams / 350 metres / 380 yards

Knitted in wool on 3.5 mm needles - Drover and Classer 330 m/361 yd per 95-100 g hank.
A -- 60 grams / 200 metres / 215 yards
B -- 70 grams / 230 metres / 255 yards
C -- 90 grams / 295 metres / 325 yards
D -- 105 grams / 345 metres / 380 yards

If knitting in cotton
Size 3.25mm (US 3 : UK 10) straight needles.
Size 3.25mm (US 3 : UK 10) circular needles, 61 cm (24 in).

If knitting in Sports weight yarn
Size 3.5mm (US 4) straight needles.
Size 3.5mm (US 4) circular needles, 61 cm (24 in).

TENSION / GAUGE
25 sts / 32 rows = 10 cm (4 in worked on 3.25 mm needles in Cotton.
AND the exact same gauge if knitted in 5/6 sports weight yarn on 3.5mm needles worked in st st.
