Rubus Cowl
Rubus Cowl is the perfect partner for the Rubus Slouch. Soft and squishy, whether you like a snug fitting cowl or a long infinity scarf to loop around your neck you can’t beat a cowl as a modern alternative to the traditional scarf.
Available in 3 sizes, the small sized cowl is a cosy fit on an adult or perfectly suited for a child. The medium size sits neatly around the neck with minimal fuss and the long infinity scarf will keep your shoulders warm.
This pattern is written for both DK/8ply and Aran weight yarns.
The cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up. Instructions are given for an optional super stretchy tubular cast on and cast off for a professional looking finish. Link to youtube video tutorials included courtesy of Georgie Hallam of Tikkiknits.
The skill level is rated as ‘Advanced Beginner’ since the stitch pattern may be fiddly for an absolute beginner to execute, but a confident or adventurous beginner should not be discouraged.
The gathered stitch used in this pattern is based on an Estonian lace technique, a full photo tutorial is included.
