About the Knitting Pattern
The Red Nose Reindeer Jacket is a children’s Christmas cardigan designed to fit ages 2 to 11 years. Featuring two adorable Rudolph motifs on the back and one on each front side, every reindeer is finished with a bright red pompom nose for festive cheer. Knitted in double knitting (DK) wool, the jacket is shaped with a beautifully textured cabled yoke, a three button fastening, and ribbed edges. The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.

Design Details
The jacket is constructed with a decorative cabled yoke that forms the main feature of the design. The back, left front, right front, and sleeves are each worked flat up to the yoke. All pieces are then joined onto the same needle to complete the cable pattern across the top. Once the yoke is finished, the sleeve and side seams are sewn together. Stitches are picked up along the front edges to knit the button and buttonhole bands. A chart is provided for the Rudolph motif.

• 8–9 years
• 10–11 years

Skills Level
Intermediate. You will need experience of:
• Working from a chart for the motif
• Using a cable needle to complete the yoke design

Yarn
This pattern uses double knitting (DK) wool. (Overseas equivalents: USA Light Worsted or Australian 8 ply.)
The cardigan shown is knitted in Stylecraft Special DK in the following shades:
• Lipstick (1246)
• White (1001)
• Walnut (1054)
• Dark Brown (1004)
• Black (1002)

Needles
• 3.25 mm (USA 3) and 4.0 mm (USA 6) straight needles

Other Requirements
• 1 cable needle (4 mm)
• Stitch holders
• 3 buttons
• Small crochet hook (recommended for pulling yarn through when making the pompom noses)
