Rue's Least Favorite Kind of Turkey
While I have some qualms about the colonialism and revisionist history associated with U.S. Thanksgiving, and am a vegetarian to boot, this was too cute not to attempt. Here is my best recollection of how I accomplished Rue’s least favorite kind of turkey.
Materials and tools:
Worsted weight yarn (50 g?), appropriate golden-brown shade (kettle-dyed or mottled shades can work well here)
Lace, white, 1 inch wide.
5.0 mm dpns
Darning needle
Polyfill stuffing
Abbreviations:
K (or K1, K2…) = knit (number is number of stitches)
P (or P1, P2…) = purl (number indicates number of purled stitches)
K2tog = knit two stitches together
Kfb = knit into the front of the stitch, then into the back of the stitch (or use your favorite method to add a new stitch)
