Ruffle Clutch
The Ruffled Clutch is a fun and funky clutch that could work as well with jeans as an evening dress.
The pattern uses approximately 1/3 of the skein of ruffle yarn and less than half of the alpaca/wool. You can easily get two bags out of your yarn.
The bag is knit in two separate sides using a provisional cast on that is later grafted together. There are instructions for sewing the bag into the purse frame, however, if you have never done it, I suggest you spend a little time on YouTube watching the instructional videos. cottonandcloud had a good tutorial for sewing in the bag. The only difference is that I recommend that you use a bit of glue after sewing but before crimping.
The bag is very quick easy to make, only using 5 rows of ruffle yarn per side. Most of the bag is garter stitch. It can easily be lined before sewing it into the frame. The only tricky (or should I say fiddly) part is sewing it into the frame.
One hint when using the ruffle and wool yarn together. I found it easier to keep one of each in each hand and knit the wool continental and the ruffle English style. This is referred to as two finger knitting often used in Fair Isle and stranded knitting. If you do not know how to do this, I would suggest a quick return to YouTube.
