The main portion of the sweater is worked seamless and flat from the neck down. The sleeves are put on waste yarn (or holders), then worked in the round when the sweater is complete. Stitches for the ruffles are picked up from the front edges after the body is knitted, then, when the ruffles are completed, stitches for the front bands are picked up and the front bands are then knitted.

Yardage is listed for one color sweaters. If you wish to make the ruffles in a contrasting color, the ruffle yardage would be approximately 45 to 60 yards, depending on the size.
