“Ruffled Rose Dress” is a 12” doll dress. It features a lacy 3 layered skirt almost like a tiered cake. The fitted bodice gives a perfect contour.

The cap sleeves makes it look not too flashy but classy. The button closures on the back complete with a satin ribbon belt and bow gives it an alluring romantic look.

This ruffled crochet dress makes the doll look ready for prom or for any party.

Story of Rose:
Rose is one of my daughter Shaman’s dolls. She is named after Rose, the flower because she looked like a delicate rose when she arrived in my daughters life. Also Rose is one of my favorite flowers. Yup! I love to give names for all her dolls.

My daughter is obsessed with dolls……You know that age, right? The girls day starts and ends with doll playing. That’s where we are at right now with my 9 years old daughter.

For her 7th birthday, I gifted Shaman with dresses for all her Barbie dolls. This is the 4th crochet dresses I have designed for her doll. All the remaining dresses were hand sewed by me.

I can’t say if I’ve been a good or a bad mother to her. I still haven’t gifted her all the dresses I promised to her. It may be partly because I also believe in spending time with her playing and be her toy rather than just making toys for her.

I designed and made this dress for her in 2018. She has been so understanding that she has not played with it yet. It was because I wanted to finish writing the pattern first.

One of my goals is, “No more UFO- unfinished objects or patterns”. So, it makes both me and her extremely happy. Me, because I finally finished writing this pattern and her because she finally gets to play with it.

Well, Rose is not Rosy anymore because Shaman likes to put make-up on all her dolls and color their hair all the time. So Rose now looks like she just came out of a Halloween party. So, Gaia, her latest doll is being the fair maiden and modelling for this dress now.

I’ve used embroidery floss in Size 10 weight to make this dress. I used approximately 50 yards of Red and 30 yards of White thread.

I Used:
Lotus International (India) Red Rose Stranded Cotton(100% Cotton; 42 yds; 38m/0.35 oz; 10 g; CYCA # 0): #Red, #White, 1 ball each.

Crochet Hook Size:
1.75 mm/ US 00 size steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Sewing Needle
3 faux pearl beads in size 10mm
1/2 inch wide satin ribbon – 27 inches long.
