The center panel of lace is inspired by the traditional Shetland Lace pattern “Rose Trellis Lace”. This well-loved pattern is featured in many knitting designs. The combination of roses and diamonds is of course always a winner!
The ruffles were featured in a “Flounce Border” on a counterpane in the book Knitting Counterpanes, by Mary Walker Phillips. The ruffles are both easy to work and lovely as a “feminine frame” for the scarf.
Pattern was professionally tech edited by Robin Melanson.
