Ruffles Baby Bib
This pattern was designed with toddlers in mind. They usually need a larger bib to cover their fronts. Size is approximately 10 ½” long (6 ¼ neck to bottom) not including the ties and 10” wide. I used 2 colours for a bit of contrast.
One ball of cotton is enough to make the bib. I used a circular needle to work this. It will be necessary for knitting the ruffle and neck but you could use straight needles for the body if you wish. Everything is knitted in one piece so there is no sewing.
If you would like a smaller version knit this pattern up with double knit cotton (this one is classed as Aran) and a smaller needle 2.75 or whatever gives you the texture you want.
The neckline and ties are made using an I-cord and I-cord bind off, which is fully explained.
ERATA: - In the instructions for the main body the pattern says “repeat these 2 rows 16 times and do the first row again (45rows)”. In actual fact it is 35 rows not 45.
