Ruffles' Blanket (cat)
I highly recommend an acrylic yarn, such as Ice Yarns Magic Light, for easy maintenance. The project also looks really nice with self-striping yarn. You’re free to use any yarn you like of course, but I personally find acrylic more convenient.
This is the first pattern I ever wrote and published. I wanted to knit a cute cat blanket for my friend’s cat Ruffles after he helped me through some rough times, but I didn’t want anything too plain nor too complicated. Ruffles’ blanket was born and named in her honor, and I’m proud to share it with the world!
It knits up a very nice blanket in stockinette, with a thick and fluffy garter stitch border featuring an small eyelet pattern to make it just a touch fancier!
In order to knit this blanket, you need to know how to:
- cast on long tail
- knit
- purl
- yarnover
- knit 2 together
- bind off Elizabeth Zimmermann style
If you run into any problems or have questions, feel free to message me on Ravelry! I’d love to hear suggestions on how to improve my patterns.
Have fun and don’t forget to share your pictures on Ravelry with us!
