"Ruffles on Ruffles" Scarf
Please note that this is a machine knitting pattern and there is no hand knitting pattern for this design
Designed for both a standard gauge (4.5 mm) and mid-gauge (6.5 mm/LK150) knitting machine. Instructions for both machine gauges are included within the pattern.
This was a scarf that I designed for my Master’s collection! It is so much fun to make, wear, and style. You can knit it to be an elegant boa-like wrap or a casual shawl. No matter how you make it, it is sure to keep you warm and add some flair to your outfit.
This design is very versatile and I would encourage you to experiment with yarn choices and combinations! You can get the gauge of the scarf using either a thread weight, lace weight, or fingering weight yarn, and suggested machine tensions to get the gauge for each yarn are included in the pattern.
Yardage:
Fur Trimmed Scarf: 600 yards / 550 meters of Metallic Thread Weight Yarn and 750 yards / 685 meters of Eyelash Yarn
Non-Fur Trimmed Scarf: 1400-3000 yards / 1280-2750 meters of your choice of yarn (see above), depending on which length you make.
Finished Measurements:
Width: 7.5-8.5 in / 19-22 cm
Length: 80 in / 203 cm (or custom)
Instructions for the original fur-trimmed scarf and all variations pictured are included in the pattern. If you need any help with the techniques used, I made a YouTube tutorial walking you through every step of making the scarf here!
Photo tutorials and/or links to all techniques used are included within the pattern!
Enjoy!
