Crocheted with the same Canvas Stitch technique I developed as the main fabric for the Ever-Change Sweater (for humans). This means you can embellish it with slip stitch or cross stitch to personalise it - Christmas Sweater anyone!???
As a veterinarian I often find that conventional dog fashions stop short of keeping the rump warm all the way to the tail base. A firm fitting garment can provide potential relief for some dogs that suffer anxiety as well so I wanted to design this with little to no ease. In that way this jumper could be a therapy aid.

It has been designed with a wool blend and tested in a few other yarns - wool and cotton fibres. Both work very well but keep in mind a cotton/acrylic will not have the same stretch (and therefore a bit harder to get on and off).

Yarn allowance includes 10% contingency and 23g for swatching (1 swatch) which equates approx. to:
280 (400: 560: 730: 920: 1130: 1370: 1630: 1960) metres.

The striped version uses approximately equal amounts of 2 colours so divide the yardage.

Hooks:
4mm hook (or hook size required to meet gauge)
Dogs with a long narrow neck and very deep chested breeds may need a 3mm hook to make the neck opening smaller relative to the chest.
