The sole is worked in worsted weight (category 4). The upper can be worked in fine (1 or 2), DK (3), or worsted weight (4) depending on the size of booties you are working. For 6-12 months if using less than a category 4 worsted weight yarn on the upper it is recommended you work with 2 strands of yarn instead of 1.
