Ruhi (overlay mosaic)
Ruhi
My love for Arabic and Eastern design inspired me to create Ruhi. A Sanskrit-origin name that means ‘to rise, prosper, thrive or grow’. Also an ancient Arabic name meaning ‘soul’. It is one of those easy, relaxing patterns that just flows.
I love how this pattern works so well with the combination of a variegated and a solid yarn.
The pattern is written for Overlay Mosaic Crochet and is a 24 stitches x 28 row repeat that comes with a chart (DC’s marked with an X) and written instructions. Included are full details for a throw/afghan (42 x 57 in / 105 x 145 cm) and a cushion (26 x 12 in / 65 x 30 cm). As usual the pattern is available in both English with US crochet terms and Dutch.
I used a combination of DK and worsted weight yarn with a 4 mm (G) hook, but the pattern can be made with any yarn and complimenting hooksize.
