This pattern is published in 52 Weeks of Shawls by Laine Publishing.

Ruiskaunokki (Finnish for “cornflower”) is a rectangular shawl knitted in stockinette stitch over its longer side. The design focuses on the purl side of the shawl. Every row starts off with two slipped stitches which form a small i-cord edge. After blocking, the contrast threads are woven in. When Sarah Heymann was a child, her mom had quite a few books about nature and how there are certain patterns which always recur. The pattern reflects this graphic symmetry in nature.
