Rumpelstilskin cowl
As rich in the composition of its texture as its amber and golden colors, this voluptuous scarf will charm you with its style and versatility. Wear it as a shoulder warmer, wrap it twice around your neck like a scarf, and if you accidentally get caught in unexpected cold weather, wear it as a hood to keep your head warm.
The photos hardly do justice to the beauty of the mixture of fibers and colors: mohair, stellina, merino, cashmere and silk … it is absolutely necessary to see it to understand how this combination is exquisite! The model is rather easy to make since it is made using knit stitches, purl stitches and a simple basic brioche stitch without any increase or decrease, all knit in the round on a needle of the same circumference as the neck.
The name of the model is a small nod to the character of a series that I watched with my son a few years ago: Once upon a time. For a few years, during the Christmas holidays, we had the habit of watching this series together just him and me and Rumpelstilskin was our favorite character … I hold a very beautiful memory.
In addition to the pattern, you will need the following to knit this cowl:
1 skein of La Douce MCN, shown in Seashell
1 skein of Fizwizbiz, shown in Ambre (knit doubled with Hermione)
1 skein of Hermione, shown in Caramel (knit doubled with Fizwizbiz)
Circular needles of 3.75 mm US#5 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - suggested cable length 80 cm (32 in)
1 stitch marker.
Tapestry needle
Gauge : 16 stitches = 10 cm – 4 inches, knit in garter stitch with the double yarn (Fizwizbiz & Hermione).
NECK CIRCUMFERENCE : 100 cm (40 inches)
