Given thread and yardage derived from recent knit with modern thread:
Approximately 76 cm (30”) with Opera 20 on U.S. Size 2. Required approximately 800 yds of Opera 20 (a bit less than 2 balls).

From the pattern:
Diameter: Approx. 43 cm (17”) using thread Size 150 and needles Size 4 mm (U.S. Size 6);

Approx. 86 cm (34”) using silk cord and needles Size 8 mm (U.S. Size 11).
