Runic Valentines
A reversible beanie in double knit with binding runes.
The top rune means protection against evil or lasting.
The bottom rune means love or gift of joy.
Together they mean lasting love or lasting happiness. <3
This beanie is worked in the round, from the bottom up, using the magic loop technique and double knitting - alternating a knit stitch in colour A, while both yarns are held in the back, with a purl stitch in colour B, while both yarns are held in front. The end result is two layers of stockinette stitches, with the wrong sides facing each other in the inside.

Additional Notes:
• This pattern is written in British English.
• All chart measurements are given in cm.
• For descriptions and video guides on how to do double knitting, look up the method on YouTube. I’ve included some photos for key parts but not for how to do double knitting in general.
• Be mindful of having both strands of yarn in front of the work when doing the purl stitches and opposite for knit stitches.
• Have the yarn for the front knit stitches on top of your finger if you’re a continental knitter. This will help keep track of which stitch is a knit stitch next and will assist with the double knitting in general.
• All stitch counts are for both colours
