This beanie is worked in the round, from the bottom up, using the magic loop technique and double knitting in the round — alternating a knit stitch in colour A, while both yarns are held in the back, with a purl stitch in colour B, while both yarns are held in front. The end result is two layers of stockinette stitches, with the wrong sides facing each other on the inside.

Sizes:

• XXS, (Baby), fits head circumference approx. 40-45 cm.
• XS, (Child), fits head circumference approx. 45-50 cm.
• Small, fits head circumference approx. 50-55 cm.
• Medium, fits head circumference approx. 55-60 cm.
• Large, fits head circumference approx. 60-65 cm.
• In the text information for the different sizes will be marked with () for every other size like this; XXS, (XS), Small, (Medium), Large.

Yarn:

Needles and additional materials:
• Circular needle, size 3 mm/US 2.5, 80 cm/32 inches long.

• Measuring tape

Knitting Tension:
• 48 stitches and 32 rows using stockinette stitch on size 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm.

Note:
• If your tension is too tight (more stitches in 10 cm), switch to larger needles.
• If your tension is too loose (fewer stitches in 10 cm), switch to smaller needles.

Additional Notes:
• This pattern is written in British English.
• All chart measurements are given in cm.
• For descriptions and video guides on how to do double knitting, look up the method on YouTube. I’ve included some photos for key parts but not for how to do double knitting in general.
• Be mindful of having both strands of yarn in front of the work when doing the purl stitches and opposite for knit stitches.
• Have the yarn for the front knit stitches on top of your finger if you’re a continental knitter. This will help keep track of which stitch is a knit stitch next and will assist with the double knitting in general.
• All stitch counts are for both colours
