Believe it or not, Rupert started out as a swatch to see how micro stripe yarn knit up. Only, before I knew it I was half way through what would become a shawl and knew exactly what I wanted it to look like when it was done! Sometimes the yarn really does take over.
Rupert starts as a crescent shapes shawl but then goes on to have a deep, flat sided border to add depth without additional width. The result is a warn snuggly shawl that hugs your shoulders and drapes down your back.
I know you’re wondering why on earth this pretty shawl is called “Rupert”, well, that’s what happens when you let your smarty pants husband name the pattern!

Yarn: Original example worked in Harnie Hoolie’s Designs Silky Bah Lamb 4ply (1 skein or 350m of each colour).
Needles: 3.5mm circular needles (approx. 60cm long).
Other: Stitch markers, tapestry needle (for weaving in ends), blocking equipment (pins, matts, wires etc).
Gauge: 25 stitches, 30 rows in stocking stitch, blocked.
Finished Measurements: 126cm/49.5” wingspan, 55cm/22” depth at deepest point
