One of the things all knitters come across especially mums is when you knit a garment and then your child goes through a growth spirt and suddenly the length is too short and the only way to adapt is either using grafting technique which can be fiddly or uppicking half a sweater and adding a few rows which is not what many knitters like to do .

Taking all of this into consideration I have come up with a design which is not only a quicky knit, the stitches are fun and easy and you knit the skirt from the waistband so the cast off edge is at the bottom and again you knit from the waistband up towards the shoulders so there is also a cast off edge there.

If you need to adapt the length its a simple task of detaching the pillar edge from the bottom which is slipped stitched into place then unravelling only the cast off rows and then adding a few more rows in.

Tunic tops are in for the season. Great for layering and looks super with those lovely wild west blouses.

The tunic is fun to knit and you can have it as a full length tunic or as the cropped version. The full length tunic takes 4 skeins up to 5 skeins for the largest size. The cropped version takes 3 skeins up to 4 skeins for the largest size.

There is a substantial width allowance with these garments.
The pattern comes in paired sizes

Ages 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9(10) yrs. The last paired size does have slightly more width allowances but is fine due to layering
