Rusty Cowl
Inspired by the Rusty Socks, this design takes the colourwork patterns of the socks and develops them into a cowl. Knit in the round to form a tube with a provisional cast on, it is grafted together at the end to form a seamless loop with a möbius twist. If a provisional cast on and grafting aren’t your thing… just cast on and cast off as normal and sew the ends together. There are instructions for with and without the möbius loop.
The pattern has written instruction and charts for the colourwork.
Size: 25 inches (63 cm) long x 6.5 inches (17 cm) wide
(can be made wider by increasing the number of repeats - keep in mind this will impact amount of yarn required.)
Needles: 2.75 mm (US 3) 16” circular for working in the round, long circular needles if using magic loop method (or size needed to get gauge).
A second set of needles are needed for Kitchener Stitch at end.
Crochet hook (size not important) for provisional cast on.
Gauge: 36 sts x 36 rows per 4 inches (10 cm)
Gauge is not critical in this project but it will affect the amount of yarn needed.
