Ruthanne's Birthday Bag
I created this pattern to make a felted bag for my friend Ruthanne’s birthday, thus the name. Since I wrote the pattern as I was making the bag, I went back and made a second one following my handwritten directions to test it for consistent results and it worked.
This bag looks great in a variegated yarn, but could also be done in stripes or any other color working you desire. I did the second one using a full skein of Paton’s Classic Wool Merino in a variegated color. When that ran out, I switched to a solid color of Knit Pick’s Wool of the Andes in a solid (but complementary) color. The results were great. Needle felting is another idea. Be creative!!
P.S. The needle felting on the blue bag pictured is NOT included in the pattern. I just Googled “stained glass patterns” and found that lovely Celtic knot. :)
