Ruth's Journey Scarf
Easy, Fast and most of all, lovely. That’s the name of the game with this scarf. DK weight or light worsted yarn and #8 needles make for a quick, satisfying project. Accented with #6 beads, always optional, but oh so elegant, cables and lace, lots of variety of stitches but not complicated. K3tog, Sssk, and a 6 stitch cable, if you are familiar with those, you’re set.
Pattern repeat is 10 rows, so very easy to change length to your personal desire. Scarf is 42 stitches wide.
Gauge is not important for fit with scarves, but this yarn is gauged at 20 stitches to 4” on #7 Needles.
Material needed for this project include, DK or light Worsted weight yarn, 390 - 400 yds., # 8 Knitting Needle, Cable Needle. Optional 260 Size 6 Glass Beads.
Pattern is entirely both in row by row written instructions and charted to satisfy both types of knitters.
Suelilly’s Bead Slider tool is available on Etsy for $3.99, including shipping. A little helping tool I created after numerous fits trying to add beads to lace and fingering weight projects. Vinyl coated wire slides the bead onto a stitch, the vee end keeps beads from falling off. Check it out!
