Ryder is a colourwork beanie inspired by my stepson, Ryder, and his fondness for snowboarding.

Using Stranded Knitting, this colourwork hat is worked in the round and uses a chart for the horizontally symmetrical mountain design. I’ve also included a link to a video on how to catch your floats as you work with both colours of yarn.

Sizing: Adult - Will fit up to a 24” circumference

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios in Matisse Blue (110 yards) and Frank Ochre (100 yards). Any worsted weight yarn will work. Make sure there is a strong contrast between the two colours.

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted Weight yarn, 2 colours
  • 4.00mm and 5.00mm needles with 16” cord
  • 5.00mm DPN’s (or needles for magic loop)
  • extra set of 4.00mm, 16” circular needles (optional)
  • stitch markers
  • scissors and darning needle
