FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
36 (39, 42 ½, 45 ½, 48 ¾, 52, 55)“ around chest at underarm
24 ½ (25, 25 ½, 26 ½, 27, 27 ½, 28)” from right front cast on to right neck edge.
Shown in size 39, worn with 3” of positive ease.
MATERIALS
1050 (1200, 1300, 1400, 1550, 1700, 1850) yards DK weight yarn.
Shown here in Green Mountain Spinnery Alpaca Elegance (50% wool, 50% alpaca; 180 yd 165 m/57 g): 6 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins.
Please note the body is a somewhat cropped 14” to the underarm- if you prefer a longer length and plan to add more then an inch to the length purchase additional yarn.
Needles
US 6/4mm: circular 24” or longer for body and a set of 4 or 5 DPN for sleeves.
US 4/3.5mm: circular 24” or longer for hem, 16” circular for collar and a set of 4 or 5 DPN for sleeve cuffs.
Notions required
2 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge
20 stitches x 26 rows = 4” in Stockinette stitch on larger needles
Adjust needle size to obtain gauge
NOTES
The body is worked in the round from the bottom up to the underarm, then front and back are divided and worked separately to the shoulders. The sleeves and worked from the bottom to the underarm in the round then the caps are worked back and forth in rows. The set-in sleeves are sewn into place. The funnel neck collar is picked up and worked in the round.
The fit if this pullover is intended to be relaxed through the body and fitted in the shoulders. Suggested ease is 1-3” larger then actual chest measurements.
