Rye Knitted Cowl
Part of the Prairie Grains Collection –
Yarns dyed on the prairies, for patterns inspired by the prairies
This specific download only has the pattern for the knitted cowl. Each pattern is sold separately on Ravelry.
Pattern Description
Rye is a collection of patterns, including:
· A knitted toque
· A pair of knitted mittens
· A pair of knitted fingerless mittens
· A knitted cowl
· A crocheted cowl
The yarn has been specially died to reflect the colour of rye fields waving in the sun on the prairies, and the chevron-style motif represents the waving stalks of barley in the prairie wind. Both knit and crochet are used in this collection. The mittens and fingerless mittens are made with an ambidextrous thumb, so each item can be used on the left or right hand. A chevron-style motif connects all of the items in this collection to offer a cohesive look.
Sizing
The toque and mitten patterns are written in 4 sizes, intended to reflect sizing from toddler to adult. While a fair amount of ease can be present in these accessory garments, further adaptions may be needed for more specific sizing needs. Patterns are written to allow for adapting (e.g.: work until mitten is at the tip of pinky finger, etc.) encourages a custom fit. The cowls are written in two sizes, and options are presented on adapting for personal choice (single loop or multiple loops).

Specific Information for Knitted Cowl Pattern:
This pattern is written in to accommodate choice in length. Please note that this garment may not be well suited to small children as a cowl; it is suggested to knit it as a scarf - to adjust it to a scarf, complete a cast-on and cast-off of your choice, and do not join the ends.
