SA-08-Weekend
I designed nine different cable blocks. Each block consists of a garter stitch border and flanked by a simple cable to the main cable design.
The squares are knit with Lana Grande, a wonderfully soft and chunky yarn from Cascade yarn. I chose to use two colors from this line, Irish oatmeal and Beige. I also used US size 15 needles, which make the knitting go real quickly. The border for the afghan is a simple cable design. It is knit separately and sewn on to the completed afghan.
This was such a fun quick project.
Yarn Cascade Lana Grande (100% Peruvian Highland wool; 87 yd/3.5 oz 100g): #6067 beige; 14 skeins; #6013 Irish oatmeal,11 skeins).
Needles Size 15 (10.00 mm):
Notions Removable markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 12 sts and 14 rows = 4” in pattern st
