Sable Island Winds
Inspired by the ocean winds on the shores of Sable Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, this shawl swirls around the arms and over the shoulders. It provides just the perfect amount of warmth for gentle beach breezes, and warm summer evenings. There is a sweet little cabled border at the neck and a subtle lace edging at the bottom edge.
The shawl wraps twice around the arms with a loop to attach over a finger, and keep it in place. It can also be worn as a scarf.
Although the pattern is a one size, the fit is small/med over the shoulder and arms. If you want a larger size, it may work best to increase every second row earlier in the pattern, and buy an extra skein of wool. I used almost every cm of one skein to get this shawl.
Instead of braid for the finger loops you could get creative with a nice soft leather or other material.
