Sadie Baby Dress
This sweet baby dress pattern is written for sizes newborn to 12/18 mo. (A toddler/little girl pattern size 24mo/2T up to size 5 for this same dress is listed on Ravelry here or for sale in my Etsy shop.)
This is a no-sew pattern that is knit in the round so there are no seams to join! When writing my patterns, I try to make them simple to follow, explaining abbreviations and marking in stitch counts after increase or decrease rows so you know you are on the right track. I also welcome questions if knitters come across something in the pattern they feel needs further explanation.
Skills needed are:
Knitting in the round (on a circular needle and on dpns.)
Picking up stitches
Provisional Cast-on (though you can get around this with a regular cast-on and picking up stitches later to knit the skirt)
Knit one front and back (K1fb)
Work 2 together (W2tog): Either knit 2 together or purl 2 together, depending on where you are in the seed stitch pattern.
Yarn over (YO) do this loosely because yarn-overs will become your button holes
(YouTube.com is a great resource for instructional knitting videos if you’re not familiar with any of these knitting techniques - none of them are difficult once you see how they are done.)
Materials needed:
Quince & Co Yarn - “Tern” yarn
Recommended yarn Available at: quinceandco.com
2 (2, 2, 3) skeins
Set of US size 4 dpn
24” US size 4 circular needle
2 buttons that are each a half inch or smaller in diameter
This pattern was edited on May 17, 2011 to include close-up photos of the button band. I tried to send a new pattern to every customer I had a record of, but if I accidentally missed you, please message me with your name and e-mail address and I will e-mail you a copy after looking up your original order -Thanks!
