A classic slouchy hat never goes out of style. And, what better way to get the characteristic flexibilty and a fabric-like movement to your hat than to crochet one with sock yarn?

The Sadie Slouchy Pattern is an intermediate crochet pattern. The hat is worked in the round from the top down to the brim. Alternating sections of complimentary stitch designs create awesome texture and will make your slouchy a stand out in any solid, striped, or even variegated color scheme.

The pattern calls for approximately 250-400 yards of a fine weight (2) yarn of your fabric choice. (Pictured is Premier Yarns Wool-Free Sock yarn in colorway Saguaro Sky. Although this yarn is considered a 2, it works up like a larger sock weight.) The pattern includes instructions to make your hat in either an adult small/medium or adult large size. (The yarn featured has quite a bit of stretch and the adult small/medium fit my husband.) It also calls for a US-F5.0/3.75mm hook, tapestry needle, and scissors.

Try out this twist on a chic and classic accessory and soon you’ll have a new staple in your wardrobe.
