Safe Space is a knitted quilt using hexagons in fingering weight yarn to create a blanket that reminds you that the best feeling is being yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. Enjoy knitting your mini skeins, scraps, and colorful little bits of yarn in this blanket, in either half- or full-hexagons! Instructions are included for join-as-you-go construction and weaving in ends as you go, for minimal finishing and maximum enjoyment of the finished project.

This pattern features some of the most popular features from its big sibling Northeasterly, including

Gauge
28 sts & 52 rows = 4” in garter stitch, in fingering on smaller needle
OR
26 sts & 48 rows = 4” in garter stitch, in DK weight or fingering held double on larger needle
Each hexagon is approximately 4” wide at its largest point.
Gauge is not crucial to this pattern, so choose a fabric you like with the needle size you prefer.

Size US 5 / 3.75 mm needles for larger gauge (DK or fingering held double)
