Sagebrush is a woody and herbaceous plant native to western North America. This aromatic shrub grows in arid and semi-arid conditions throughout a range of cold desert and mountain habitats, such as British Columbia’s Southern Interior. Sagebrush provides food and habitat for a variety of wildlife and was traditionally used as a herbal medicine.

This hat is knit bottom up, with an all-over textured pattern inspired by our local sagebrush. The pattern includes options for three sizes, and a slouchy or beanie version.

YARN/YARDAGE

Approximately 60-80g (130-180y) worsted weight yarn.

Grey hat (adult M slouchy) shown in Malabrigo Rios (210y/100g), using 70g Pearl.

Green hat (adult M slouchy) shown in Cascade 220 Heathers (220y/100g) using 75g Lichen.

TOOLS

3.5mm (US 4) and 4mm (US 6) needles for preferred method of working in the round, or size needed to get gauge, stitch markers, darning needle

GAUGE

21 st / 4” in stockinette and pattern, with larger needles, after blocking
