This sail-shaped “shawlette” borrows its style from a classic hand-knit pattern that’s knit on a bias with increases on one side and decreases on the other. It’s long enough to wear as a cowl or knotted, but shallow enough to lay comfortably over the shoulders without creating excessive bulk.

The pictured shawl was knit with an Aran weight home-spun using the full needle bed on a Silver Reed SK860.
