I am lucky enough to live by the sea and this pattern was inspired by the boats I see from my window. It is made in soft wool to keep out the sea breezes and has a front fastening to make it easier to put on. I like to knit it in a muted palette to give it a vintage feel but it looks equally good in brights. It is very popular with children, currently being the only jumper one of my grandsons will wear.
You will need small amounts of three contrasting colours for the boats.
