In Japan at Spring they have hanami (flower viewing) season when people have picnic under a blooming sakura. This custom is said to have started around 710-794 AD, during Nara period.
It’s been my dream to visit Japan long time and see sakura when it is on it’s fullest.
So idea to this sock came from that dream.

Pattern calls for at least intermediate level experience from colorwork knitting, leg is made with three yarns at the same time.

Stranding in this pattern is made with ladder technique, instructions included in the pattern with video link.

Pattern is test knitted by Linda Lutomski, but if you find anything that needs to be corrected please don’t hesitate to contact me!
