Sakura
This pattern is included in my ebook - Just Playing Around
On the West Coast Cherry Blossoms are one of the first flowers of Spring. There are trees everywhere full of blossoms. The blossoms come before the leaves of the tree and fall to the ground in carpets as the leaves come in. A few days ago, we got a new yarn in the store. And I saw the colours, and the trees are blooming right now. So, I had to knit this little piece of Spring.
Sakura is a simple beanie, not too deep, with all over patterning through the body and crown.
This is a slow knit. There are 3 colours on every round of the body. Take time to knit and keep your stranding loose, the effect is worth the effort. The embellishments are simple 5 petal knit flowers that are applied after the hat is complete. The centers of each flower are a very simple satin stitch filler in two colours.
There is a photo tutorial on how to construct the flowers.
