A simple knit for a pretty layer. This mini skirt goes fits perfectly over a pair of leggings or cartwheel shorts to to keep warm while enjoying the cherry blossoms of early spring or hunting around the village green for Easter eggs.

This top down pattern is written for children’s sizes 4-12 and is easily customizable for smaller or larger sizes and adjustable to a desired length. For best movement and shape, I recommend finishing a few inches above the knee.

If you like a simpler look, you can omit the hearts near the hem and continue in the seeded design.

You will need 16” circular needles in the size required to obtain gauge. Longer needles are nice for fittings but not necessary.
