About this pattern
Sakura Sweater is knit from the top down. First the back piece is knit flat with shoulder increases. Then stitches are picked up at the shoulders for the front pieces and worked flat while knitting increases for the neck. The shoulders are joined, and the front piece is knit flat until it reaches the same length as the back piece. The front piece and back piece are joined and knit in the round. The body is finished with a broad 1 x 1 rib. The stitches are picked up around the sleeves and knit in the round. The sleeves are finished with a broad 1 x 1 rib. Lastly, stitches for the collar are picked up and knit in a 1 x 1 folded rib.
Needles: Circular needles 5 mm (40, 60, 80/100 cm) US 16, 24, 32/40 inches), circular needles 4 mm (40, 80/100 cm) US6 (16, 32/40 inches) double pointed needles 5 mm US8 and double pointed needles 4 mm US6se the Magic Loop technique).
Gauge: 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches = 17 sts x 23 rows in stockinette knit with needle 5 mm US8 after washing and blocking the swatch.
