The Salcombe shawl is a light and airy shawl perfect for a cool summer evening or walk along the coast. The design was inspired by wonderful childhood memories of family holidays along the Devonshire coast, and has been named after one of my very favourite places. This crescent shaped shawl features sections of cosy garter stitch, and lace sections which remind me of waves and ripples in the water.

Charts are included for the lace sections in addition to written line by line instructions.

Yarn: The sample uses a total of 780 yards (approx 180g) of fingering weight yarn in two colours:

• Colour A (390yds/356m): Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles in “Typewriter” (400yds/366m per 100g)
• Colour B (390yds/356m): La Bien Aimée Merino Singles in “Life Aquatic” (400yds/366m per 100g)

Recommended Needle Size: 32” or longer 3.5mm (US Size 4) circular needle, or appropriate size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 23 sts / 36 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch
Finished Measurements: Length: 71 inches/ 180cm, Width: 19 inches/ 48 cm
